Business year 2010 Asia/Pacific
Pleasing business performance in Asia/Pacific
Schaan, Liechtenstein - 16 June 2011
Ivoclar Vivadent has performed very successfully in the Asia/Pacific region in the 2010 business year. To continue its successful market development in this region, the company has strengthened its regional presence and has invested into expanding its product portfolio.
In 2010 Ivoclar Vivadent achieved a 14 per cent growth rate in Asia/Pacific. Consequently, these markets accounted for an above-average contribution to the overall success of the Ivoclar Vivadent Group, whose worldwide sales totalled 659 million Swiss francs in the past year (an increase of 9.5 per cent over the previous year).
Sound results in all product categories
The growth attained in Asia/Pacific in 2010 can be attributed to an increase in the company’s major product categories and brands. In particular, growth rates above the market average were achieved in the all-ceramics, cements, adhesives, denture teeth and equipment sectors. Moreover, acceptance of the worldwide leading all-ceramic brand IPS e.max increased by a remarkable 48 per cent over the previous year among dental technicians and dentists in the region. IPS e.max comprises clinically proven high-strength all-ceramic materials which can be processed with the press technique or with cutting-edge CAD/CAM technology.
Further expansion of product portfolio and market presence
Ivoclar Vivadent has adapted its product portfolio to specifically take account of the needs of the Asia/Pacific markets. Accordingly, the company’s range includes, among others, the composites Tetric N Ceram and Te-Econom alongside the cements Variolink N, Multilink N and Multilink Speed. By expanding its sales force the company has been able to further build on its strong position and consolidate its regional market presence.
Well prepared for the future
“The rapid development of the Asia/Pacific region will also continue in the future. For 2011 alone we expect an increase in sales of nine to ten per cent,” says Christian Brutzer, Sales Director for Asia/Pacific. To keep pace with the increasing demand, Ivoclar Vivadent has strengthened its presence in this region. As a consequence, the existing marketing and sales offices in Mumbai (India), Singapore and Seoul (Korea) have recently been reorganized into subsidiaries. The company is also planning to establish a subsidiary in Shanghai (China) and to open a branch in Osaka (Japan) as well as to further strengthen its regional product portfolio as additional measures to expand its market presence.
